FRIDAY AUGUST 27, 2010Ottawa Charity Ping Pong TournamentThe Youth Services Bureau, Operation Come Home, and Christie Lake Kids want you to play ping pong in the inaugural Ottawa Charity Ping Pong Tournament (OCPP). They are bringing together people, ping pong, athleticism, and fun in an effort to raise money and awareness for these valuable local charities. They are thrilled to be hosting this event at Capital Music Hall located at 128 York Street in the Byward Market. With over 150 participants expected, this is sure to be a ping pong event of epic proportions. The fun begins Friday, August 27 2010 at 19:00 and continues non-stop until midnight. SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 11, 2010The Underwear Affair: Ottawa Regional Cancer FoundationJoin Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation's Uderwear Affair presented by Marks and help uncover the cure for underfunded below-the-waist cancers like prostate, ovarian, and colorectal. On September 11, 2010, run the competitive 10K or walk the fun 5K and show Ottawa that theres absolutely no shame in bringing a little awareness to down there-ness. The fun continues even after you cross the Finish Line with the EXPOsed After Party! Grab a well deserved drink, strut your stuff in the legendary costume contest, and dance the night away with your fellow participants! |

SUNDAY OCTOBER 10, 2010Ottawa Fall ColoursThe 9th Annual Ottawa Fall Colours Marathon and 12th Annual Fall Colours Half Marathon have received official certification by Athletics Canada and Run Canada and are considered official distance events. The setting for the runs, is the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum in Ottawa. It is a turn-of-the-century village with all the trappings we need to make this Thanksgiving extravaganza one with a Canadian heritage flavour. It's right here in Ottawa, but in a true country setting and rural estate home courses. With 41 permanent locations and 19,000 clinics held annually across the country, chances are there's a clinic near you. Visit blood.ca to find a complete listing of blood donor clinics in your area. You can make an appointment to donate by calling 1-888-2-DONATE. Canadian Blood Services understands your lives are busy. If you find that you are unable make your appointment for any reason, please call 1 888 2 DONATE (1 888 236-6283) and reschedule. This way we can try and offer your spot to someone else.
Canadian Blood Service host mobile clinic in various parts of the city. However, most convenient is our Blood Donor Clinic located on 1575 Carling Avenue in Ottawa. Hours of operation for this location are as follows:
Monday: 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 3:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Friday: 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Every time you make an appointment to donate blood you could potentially be saving three lives. Call 1-888-2-DONATE and make and appointment at our Carling Avenue location to donate today! Giving blood is a great way for busy and active people to give back to their community without having to invest a lot of time. |
