Nordic Fitness

Back by popular demand, OSSC is offering an amazing exercise class called Nordic Fitness! This outdoor group fitness program is designed to utilize one's natural surroundings to create a total body workout and produce a more toned, stable and fit body. 


Enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including: Nordic walking, jogging, and fall ski training techniques.


Come try out this great offering in the Gatineau Hills, all equipment provided!

Thursdays: Starts Thursday, September 21 and ends Thursday, November 9.

Classes run from 6:30-8pm. 


Classes are 90 minutes in length. 


$140 + HST.

Class package pick-up

Fall 2017 class packages will be dropped off on your first night of class!

Class packages include: Detailed information about the class and an OSSC key tag with discounts around town. Check out the great OSSC Partner discounts!


If you want to pick up your package prior to the first class, extended office hours are:

  • Wednesday, September 13 - 9:30am-8:00pm
  • Thursday, September 14 - 9:30am-8:00pm
  • Friday, September 15 - 9:30am-5:30pm

All equipment is provided.


Participants are encouraged to bring:

  • Running shoes
  • Water
  • Comfortable athletic clothing
  • Walking poles

All instruction and direction will be provided by your class instructor Jodi (he will meet you at the Gatineau Park Visitors Centre before the start of each class). An email will be sent before the class starts with all the information you'll need to know! 

Through Nordic Walking you will:

  • Gently and gradually build muscular strength and cardio endurance;
  • Improve muscle tone, posture, flexibility, balance, and agility;
  • Strengthen core muscles and major joints;
  • Learn Nordic walking and ski training techniques;
  • Enjoy a testing and varied total body workout in the outdoors. 

Classes will begin with fun social games to gently warm up. Participants will then transition to Nordic walking and ski technique work with cardio-based exercises emphasizing building heart health, strengthening joints, and building muscle. Throughout the class you can expect to focus and improve on balance, agility, flexibility, and posture. Each class will end with extensive stretching.

In this 'expect the unexpected' workout, no two classes will ever be the same.

Definitely be prepared to attend this class to laugh, relax, and enjoy yourself! 


The class meet-up location will be at the Gatineau Park Visitors Centre (33 Scott Rd, Chelsea, QC).
