Stand Up Paddle (SUP) - Intro + Explore

Get your feet wet with the world's fastest growing water sport - Stand Up Paddling (SUP)!

This class is ideal for those interested in experiencing more with this super fun sport. Through the 8-week session we cover how to balance and paddle efficiently, learn different types of strokes and freestyle moves all on calm sheltered waters.

The Nation's Capital has beautiful scenery which you will be able to explore while on the water (not to mention taking advantage of some fantastic selfie opportunities)!


Registration deadlines are as follows:

Session I:  
Registration deadline is Thursday, May 14 at midnight!

Session II:  
Registration deadline is Thursday, July 9 at midnight!

LATE FEES will apply to all registrations received after the deadline.

Sprummer 2020 Details: 

Start/End Dates

Session I: Starts Thursday, May 21 and ends Thursday, July 9.

Session II: Starts Thursday, July 16 and ends Thursday, September 3.

# of Weeks

8 Weeks.

Class Times

Option 1: 6:00pm - 7:15pm. 

Option 2: 7:15pm - 8:30pm. 

All classes run for 75 minutes.

The instructor will provide information in the event of inclement weather. 

Price $240.00 + HST.

Class Package Pick-Up

Sprummer 2020 class packages will be dropped off on your first night of classes!

Member packages include: A detailed newsletter on upcoming leagues & social events as well as your OSSC key tag, which provides you with excellent deals through our OSSC Partners.

If you would like to pick up your package prior to the first class, extended office hours are:

  • Wednesday, May 6 (10:00am-8:00pm)
  • Thursday, May 7 (10:00am-8:00pm)
  • Friday, May 8 (10:00-6:00pm) 


If you are interested in picking up your package prior to the first class, our office is open Monday to Friday from 10:00am – 5:30pm.

# of Participants

There will be a maximum of 16 participants to 1 instructor.  


All equipment is provided (including life jackets).  Participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing that can get wet.


*Wetsuits or drysuits recommended (especially for Session I).


Paddlefit has limited dry suits for rent at $20/evening (first come first serve). They also have a limited wet suits which can be borrowed each night at no cost. Please contact your guide Jodi at to make reservations.

About Your Instructor!

Your amazing SUP instructor is Sylvain!

Paddleboard instructor in the summer, snowboard instructor in the winter; being in the outdoors makes Sylvain happy no matter the weather!

All instruction and direction will come from the instructor on-site.
