Stand Up Paddle (SUP) - Intro + Explore

Get your feet wet with the world's fastest growing water sport - Stand Up Paddling (SUP)!


This class is ideal for those interested in finding out more about this super fun sport. Through the 8-week session we cover how to balance and paddle efficiently, learn different types of strokes and freestyle moves, all on calm sheltered waters.


The nation's capital has some beautiful scenery which you will be able to explore while on the water (not to mention some selfie opportunities)!

Start/end dates


Session I - Starts Tuesday, May 15 and ends Tuesday, July 3.


Session II - Starts Tuesday, July 10 and ends Tuesday, August 28.



Session II - Starts Thursday, July 12 and ends Thursday, August 30.

# of weeks

8 weeks per session.

Class times


 Session I - 6:00-7:15pm.

Session II - 7:15-8:30pm.



Session II - 6:00-7:15pm.

All classes run for 75 minutes.

Price $230 + HST.

Bye dates


None. The instructor will provide information on arrangements to be made in the event of inclement weather. 

Class packages

Sprummer 2018 class packages will be dropped off on your first night of classes!

Class packages include: Detailed information about the class, as well as your OSSC key tag which provides you with excellent deals through our OSSC Partners.


If you want to pick up your package prior to the first class, extended office hours are:

Wednesday, May 9 - 9:30am-8:00pm
Thursday, May 10 - 9:30am-8:00pm
Friday, May 11 - 9:30am-6:00pm

What you need to know about Stand Up Paddle - Intro + Explore:

# of participants

There will be a maximum of 16 participants to 1 instructor.  


All equipment is provided (including life jackets). Participants are required to provide comfortable athletic wear that can get wet and be comfortable in water.


*Wetsuits or drysuits recommended.


Paddlefit has a few dry suits that you can rent at $20/evening (first come first serve). They also have a few wet suits which can be borrowed each night. Please contact your instructor Jodi at to make reservations.

A bit about your instructor!

Your amazing SUP instructor is Jodi!


Jod is a lifestyle and and outdoor sport performance coach. As an athlete, he has competed in alpine and nordic skiing events during the winters. In the summer months he has been a member of the Canadian wildwater kayaking team, competing in several world championships. After discovering Stand up Paddling (SUP) on a trip in Maui, he has been spreading the stroke of SUP in the Ottawa - Gatineau Region!

All instruction and direction will come from the instructor on-site.
