Stand Up Paddle (SUP) - Intro + Explore

Get your feet wet with the world's fastest growing water sport - Stand Up Paddling (SUP)!

This class is ideal for those interested in finding out more about this super fun sport. Through the 6-week session we cover how to balance and paddle efficiently, learn different types of strokes and freestyle moves, all on calm sheltered waters.

The nation's capital has some beautiful scenery which you will be able to explore while on the water (not to mention some selfie opportunities)!

 

Session I: Registration deadline is Thursday, May 23rd at midnight!

Session II: Registration deadline is Thursday, July 4th at midnight!


LATE FEES will apply to all registrations received after the deadline.

Start/end dates

Tuesday

Session I: Starts Tuesday, May 28 and ends Tuesday, July 2.

Session II: Starts Tuesday, July 9 and ends Tuesday, August 13.

Thursday

Session I: Starts Thursday, May 30 and ends Thursday, July 4.

Session II: Starts Thursday, July 11 and ends Thursday, August 15.

6 weeks per session.

Class times

All classes run for 75 minutes.

 

Tuesday

Session I: 6:00-7:15pm and 7:15-8:30pm.

Session II: 6:00-7:15pm and 7:15-8:30pm.

Thursday

Session I: 6:00-7:15pm and 7:15-8:30pm.

Session II:  6:00-7:15pm and 7:15-8:30pm.

Price $189 + HST.

Bye dates

 

None.

The instructor will provide information on arrangements to be made in the event of inclement weather. 

Class packages

Sprummer 2019 class packages will be dropped off on your first night of classes!

What you need to know about Stand Up Paddle - Intro + Explore:

# of participants

There will be a maximum of 16 participants to 1 instructor.  

Equipment

All equipment is provided (including life jackets). Participants are required to provide comfortable athletic wear that can get wet and be comfortable in water.

 

*Wetsuits or drysuits recommended for Session I.

 

Paddlefit has a few dry suits that you can rent at $20/evening (first come first serve). They also have a few wet suits which can be borrowed each night. Please contact your instructor Jodi at Paddlefit@gmail.com to make reservations.

Your amazing SUP instructor is Sylvain!

Paddleboard instructor in the summer, snowboard instructor in the winter; being in the outdoors makes Sylvain happy no matter the weather!

Rules

All instruction and direction will come from the instructor on-site.

Class will take place at one of these locations (but not limited to):

Ottawa River, Lac Leamy, Rideau River, Meech Lake, Dow's Lake, Mousseau Lake, Pink Lake, Kingsmere Lake.
