Outdoor Ball Hockey (Dek) 5's *NEW*

Check out OSSC’s newest outdoor Ball Hockey 5's league on Monday evenings at the Rideau Sports Centre!


This version of hockey models ball hockey but with the speed of ice hockey because you're playing on a specialized Dek Hockey rink surface.


This league will be sure to test your cardio and stamina, so grab a group of friends and register a team or meet new teammates and register as an individual!

Sprummer 2020 Details: 

Start/End Dates

Starts Monday, May 11 and ends Monday, August 31.

# of Weeks

16 weeks (14 week regular season + 2 weeks of playoffs).

Game Times

Rotating start times between 7:15pm, 8:15pm and 9:15pm.


Game length is 55 minutes. 


Note: Be prepared to play on different nights during the week should rain dates occur. Every effort is made to equalize the start times across the league.

Registration Options & Price

Team registration: $780.00 + HST.

After checkout, send your teammates roster invites through the website (under "My Team" player list) so they can accept the waiver and access the schedule and standings once they are posted.   


Individual registration: $120.00 + HST.

You will be placed on a roster of individuals by end of day Monday, April 27.

Bye Dates

Civic Holiday: Monday, August 3.


Team Package Pick-Up

Meet the OSSC office staff while picking up your team newsletter, key tags and sports equipment.  If you have any questions about your league, schedule or sport we’ll be ready to answer them.

  • Wednesday, May 6 (10:00am - 8:00pm)
  • Thursday, May 7 (10:00am - 8:00pm)
  • Friday, May 8 (10:00am - 7:00pm)

Your team newsletter includes detailed information about the league and your OSSC key tags provide you with excellent details from our OSSC Partners


  • Captains can nominate another player, a friend, or a family member to pick-up the pre-paid equipment, team newsletter and key tags, on one of the dates listed above.


  • Individual registrants: After Monday, April 27, we ask all individual players contact their teammates through our website (you can log in, click on "My Team", then "Player List") to confirm who will be responsible for picking up your equipment & team package on behalf of your team.



  • The Dek Floor Hockey League does not require equipment rentals (they are brought and set-up by GCs) however, we encourage team captains to pick-up the player newsletter and key tags for your team in advance.

Rosters & Schedule

Individual team rosters will be posted online by end of day Monday, April 27.


Schedules will be posted online by midnight Friday, May 8.

How to request to play with a friend or two

Sport Info

What you need to know about Dek Ball Hockey (5's):

# of Players on Court

5 players including goalie (minimum 2 males and 2 females)

Suggested Roster/Individuals Roster Size

9 players.


Equipment including nets, sticks, goalie equipment and balls will be provided and set up each week.


Soccer style shin pads and gloves/helmets are strongly encouraged for players.


*Note: Teams should read and understand the goaltender equipment requirements. These are located in the sport rules!


Teams should bring both light and dark coloured shirts to each game. 

Additional League Information

All teams receive:

  • An invitation to the OSSC end of season party. 

Winning teams in each pool and division receive:

  • A personalized team trophy
  • OSSC champion team t-shirts!



Please refer to the sport rules page to view league rules.  It is the responsibility of all players to read and understand the sport specific rules as well as the general rules & club policies.

Score & Spirit Point Reporting

  • Game Scores (account for 75% of total points): Team captains are responsible for reporting the scores after your game by logging into your player profile and clicking on ‘My Team’ tab and selecting ‘Report Score/Spirit Points’.  Teams have a 48 hour window to report scores after the completion of the game.  Please be timely with your score reporting so league standings can remain updated for playoff positioning.
  • Spirit Points (account for 25% of total points): Spirit points are awarded to a team from their opponent after each game to encourage sportsmanship, honesty, integrity and fair play.  For more information and how to properly award spirit points, please see our section ‘All About Spirit Points’.
