Badminton Drop-In


Lob, drop shot and smash!

Badminton is a great way to improve agility and coordination while having fun and meeting new people.

Our Fall Indoor Badminton drop-in has expanded and now offered on two evenings:

- Friday (13 weeks)

- Sunday (2 x 6 week Sessions) NEW


There will be an opportunity to play doubles or singles games against those of similar skill level as well as mixing in with other players throughout your session.


 All participants must adhere to physical distancing procedures and safety protocols when on site. 

Friday: Registration Deadline is Wednesday, September 23rd @ midnight!

Sunday: Session I Registration Deadline is Friday, September 18th @ noon!

Sunday: Session II Registration Deadline is Friday, November 6th @ noon!

COVID-19 Protocol & Guidelines

We are committed to providing the highest levels of safety for our community.  


To ensure player and staff safety, we have implemented mandatory 'Safe Return to Play Protocol & Guidelines' for all Club Activities.  In order to play with the Ottawa Sport & Social Club and stay in good standing, the following guidelines MUST be followed.  A zero-tolerance policy is in place for those who challenge these decisions.   


To ensure a successful season, please remember to practice safe physical distancing and a positive attitude!

All players are required to read, understand and adhere to the following:

4 - Self Screening Tool (done before each game). 


As well as:


  • Facility specific COVID-19 Protocols (you can find these protocols in the facility link in your schedule once live). 

Start / End Dates

Friday: Starts Friday, September 25 and ends Friday, December 18.


Sunday Session I: Starts Sunday, September 20 and ends Sunday, November 1.


Sunday Session II: Starts Sunday, November 8 and ends Sunday, December 13.

Sunday Session I: 6 weeks.

Estimated Game Times

Drop-in times are 1 hour and 45 minutes. 

Friday: 8:30pm - 10:15pm.

Sunday Session I & II: 4:00pm - 5:45pm. 


Individual registration:

Friday: $125.00 + HST. 


Sunday per session: $75.00 + HST. 

Bye Dates

Sunday, October 11 (Thanksgiving). 

Schedule & Welcome Letter

The schedule will be posted online two days before your Drop-In starts and a welcome letter will be sent to let you know once the schedule is live along with specific COVID-19 facility protocols.

This is open practice style program.

Your opponent will be different for each game. 

Skill level

All levels are welcomed.

Mandatory Requirements

COVID-19 LEAGUE MODIFICATIONS - Each sport has specific mandatory roster requirements.


Once the first game has been played no additional players will be added to this league.  



  • 48 participants maximum at Rideau Sports Centre.
  • 24 participants maximum per time slot at College La Cite.

1) Game day wellness checks “COVID-19 Self Screening” must be completed by all players prior to participation.


2) Players must maintain physical distancing of 2-meters before, during and after all activities.  This includes arriving on-site, playing the sport, resting/sitting on the sidelines, and departing the game.


3) No Spectators are allowed under any circumstance (this includes kids, family, etc).

Equipment Requirements

COVID-19 LEAGUE MODIFICATIONS - Players must bring their own racquet. Shuttlecocks will be sanitized before games start and between each game. 

Shuttlecocks are provided and nets will be set-up for you when you arrive!
