What you need to know about the Run for Fun - 10K Virtual Challenge!
Your 6-week virtual running program provides daily training objectives designed to build your endurance to achieve your desired targeted distance in a safe and fun approach. Your specific program calendar (5K, 10K or 21K) will be sent to you on Monday, November 2nd.
Training objective example - Run 5 minutes, Walk 5 minutes and Repeat X4. Rest days and additional stretching & strength exercises will also be included in the program.
Did you know... You choose when you train! This allows you to fit the program into your busy schedule or when you prefer to have your training sessions!
Communication & Facebook Group
The Sport & Social Club is all about the FUN! We have designed and created a facebook group to keep you socially connected with members of your community as well as runners from across Canada!
We will be posting bi-weekly tips/tricks from running experts, fun facts, motivational items and encourage interaction from all members!
We are in this challenge together, let's create a fun, supportive and motivating community!
Participants will need proper outdoor running shoes and attire.
Mandatory Group Requirements
COVID-19 IN-PERSON CHALLENGE EVENT MODIFICATIONS
1) This program will have a maximum amount of participants for the in-person challenges as per provincial gathering limits (will be revised if there are changes to Provincial guidelines).
2) Challenge day wellness checks “COVID-19 Self Screening” must be completed by all runners prior to participation.
3) Participants must maintain physical distancing of 2-meters before, during and after all activities. This includes arriving on-site, resting/sitting on the sidelines, and departing.
4) No Spectators are allowed to attend the in-person Challenges under any circumstance (this includes kids, family, etc).
It is the responsibility of all participants to read and understand the sport specific rules (if applicable) as well as the general rules & club policies.
