Virtual Salsa Parent and Baby Dance

Dance and exercise with your little one! Learn the basic steps of popular Latin dances such as salsa, cha cha cha, bachata and merengue. All you need is a baby carrier. 


Dancing while holding your baby will provide many lovely parent/baby bonding opportunities.  This dance class will help your baby develop a good sense of rhythm, mood and feeling of music. Your swing and movement will allow your little one to relax or bounce along.

No dance experience required - All mothers and fathers are welcomed! Moms are encouraged to join after their post-postpartum medical checkup. Safety guidelines and recommendations to keep you and your baby safe while dancing will be explained prior to the start of the class.

Babies recommended age: 6-8 weeks.

All you need is a wi-fi enabled device, access to Zoom and of course, your own space to move. 


This live virtual class will be led by dancer and mom, Maria Pierre-Noel! With over 10 years of professional dancing and sharing her passion, Maria will take you this fun 45 minute class. To learn more about your instructor, visit the 'Sport Info' tab.

Private classes are a fantastic way to learn to dance quickly and with ease through a customized program based on your goals, and skill level. Dance styles offered, Salsa, Bachata, Cha Cha Cha and Merengue. Special instruction can be provided for weddings, team building and any special event. Start / End Dates

Session I: Starting Thursday, January 21 and ends Thursday, February 25.

Session II: Starting Thursday, March 4 and ends Thursday, April 15.

Each session is 6 weeks.

Class Times

The live virtual class will start at 10:00am

Each class is 45 minutes in length.

Participants are asked to join the zoom "waiting room" at least 5 minutes early to allow for a prompt class start.

Price

Individual Registration: $85.00 + HST.

Bye Dates Sunday, February 14 (Family Day Weekend).
Sunday March 14 (March Break).
Sunday, April 5 (Easter Sunday).

A Welcome Letter, with a zoom link and any other information will be provided 1 day prior to the first class.

About your Instructor



Maria was born and raised in Mexico. She started to dance Salsa with the troupe of a gifted dancer, Jose Enrique, from Los Angeles. He was at the time the number one leader in Salsa dancing who introduced the L.A. style in Mexico City. Her past performances include shows for world renowned artists such as Mark Anthony, Eddie Palmieri and La India.

Participant Conduct & Sportsmanship Expectations

All participants are expected to follow SSC sportsmanship expectations. Any unsportsmanlike conduct may result in immediate expulsion from the class. 

The following actions are prohibited:
  • All elements of verbal abuse; harassing, threatening, bullying, or doing anything else to another members that is unwanted.
  • Making personal attacks or statements about race, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, etc.

Equipment

Participants are required to have the following:
  • Laptop, tablet, or mobile device
  • Access to the internet
  • Sufficient space to move
  • Baby Carrier to hold child

 

Rules

It is the responsibility of all participants to read and understand the sport specific rules (if applicable) as well as the general rules & club policies.

Location

All classes will be held virtually over Zoom. Participants will receive a link to join the Zoom call in advance. Requirements include: access to an internet connection and Zoom on a computer or an alternative device.
